Instructions

Orange Loaf

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F (175C).
  2. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  3. Stir flour, baking powder, nuts, and salt in a bowl.
  4. Beat 1 cup sugar and butter until fluffy; beat in eggs one at a time.
  5. Stir in 1/2 cup orange juice and orange zest.
  6. Pour in the flour mixture, and stir until moistened; transfer into prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 1 hour.

Sauce

  1. Combine 1/2 cup orange juice with 1/4 cup sugar in a small saucepan.
  2. Heat and stir to dissolve sugar.
  3. Spoon glaze over hot loaf.
  4. Let stand in the pan for 10 minutes before removing the loaf to cool on a rack.
