Description

Tired of the same old potato recipes? Meet potato fritters, the crispy snack that’s perfect for brunch, lunch, or whenever you need a little fried happiness. Who’s making these this weekend?

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 potato (peeled and grated)
  • 1/2 an onion (grated)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Grab a mixing bowl and toss in the grated potato, onion, and egg. Mix it up!
  2. Slowly add the flour, stirring until everything sticks together in a batter-like consistency.
  3. Sprinkle in the cheese, salt, and pepper. Taste as you go, because life’s too short for under-seasoned fritters.
  4. Heat a pan with enough oil to lightly coat the bottom. (Think crispy, not greasy.)
  5. Scoop a spoonful at a time of the mix into the pan, flattening it with the back of your spoon.
  6. Let them sizzle away until they’re golden and crispy on both sides.
