Preheat the oven to 190C / 375F
Pudding
- Beat the sugar and egg until fluffy.
- Add and beat in jam into the above mixture.
- Sift dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Melt butter in a pot on medium heat
- Add vinegar and milk.
- Now add the butter mixture and the egg mixture to the dry ingredients and combine well.
- Pour into a well-greased baking tin.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until the top is a lovely brown color.
Sauce
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan.
- Add sugar, cream, and water and mix well and keep aside.
- Have the sauce ready, as soon as you’ve taken the pudding out of the oven, you need to pour the sauce over the pudding.
- Use all the sauce, it will seep into the baked pudding.
- Enjoy with ice cream or custard or both.
- Decorate with nuts, some fruit, or whatever you prefer.
