That bird has excellent camouflage. And it’s a new bird to me. Never heard of it.
Hi Hugh, The American bittern is a species of wading bird in the heron family, and hiding in dense reeds makes finding it a challenge. I found this one while on a walk some time ago and only noticed it because other avid birders pointed it out to me.
