You need to try this Asian Styled Pork tonight, as I am sure you will love it and so will any family and friends that may drop in at your house.
Ingredients:
- 15 ml of honey
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 15 ml grated ginger
- 15 ml dark soya sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce (my addition)
- 1 tsp 5 spice powder (my addition)
- 125 ml peanut butter
- 1.5 kg pork loin, rind off, rolled
- 1,25 ml sesame oil
- 1 BBQ cook in a bag
- 60 ml toasted cashew nuts (I didn’t have)
- 3 sliced spring onions
- 3 cups cooked rice
Method:
- Place pork in a roasting bag.
- In a small bowl mix together the seasoning, 5 spice powder (*tomatoes), peanut butter, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and honey till well combined.
- Spoon the sauce into the roasting bag and rub it into the pork.
- Close the bag and tie with the tie.
- Place the bag in the cool oven
- Bake at 180 °C for 1½ hours or until cooked on the lowest shelf and the grill is off at ALL times.
- Leave enough room for the bag to expand.
- Remove from bag and rest for 10 minutes before carving/serving.
- Spoon rice onto a platter, add sliced pork, and arrange on top of the pork.
- Pour sauce over the pork.
- Sprinkle cashew nuts and spring onions over.
