Bears Cougars Coyotes

Bears Cougars Coyotes

Wordless Wednesday – Allow your photo(s) to tell the story

Even though the trail is within city limits, it is still quite wild! This sign warning of bears, cougars, and coyotes is at the start of the trail.

Proof of the presence of predators! Some Black bear poop is on the trail. We saw a few drops like this. This one must have been BIG!!

A very tall tree loomed over me. Note the widening and fantastic new surface of the trail.

I can relate to this cute little message next to the trail!

  1. If you hadn’t mentioned it was close to the city, you would think it was way out in the country. You just never know when you will encounter wildlife.

    1. Yes, we have so many hiking areas in and around the city, It’s hard to believe that we do have them around, but as we finished our walk, another lady came in and mentioned that they had a cougar at the school nearby the walk in the previous week.

  2. You have to be careful when in the wild. The wildlife is in their home, you’re not.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Hugs. ♥

  3. I like the stone. I do not like the bear. That would terrify me…! Been too close to a polar bear, do not want to relive that expereince (relive being the word!! Yikes)

    1. Yes I totally agree Lydia, the one we say way back fortunately was a long way off, on the other side of the river, so that’s fine, but closer will become a huge problem. Never seen a polar bear in nature as yet, but can image being too close to any BEAR is not good. Yes, the stone was a great find and am so happy to other hikers do take the time to place it out for others to enjoy.

  4. Ooh, I always get nervous when I see bear warning signs while hiking. But I haven’t seen a bear hiking yet…fingers crossed.

    1. Yes we are in bear area and only once saw one on the other side of the river, but not up close. So far so good.
