  1. We have had a good crop of blackberries this year. They come in handy for freezing and use during the winter months. Blackberry and apple crumble is one of my favourite desserts (served with custard).

    • Blackberries grow wild in the fields and along the road, so one can pick them and obviously buy them as well. I love black and blueberries and have either of them daily with my cereal. A blueberry or blackberry pie is high on my favourites list. Now that we have moved, we found a bakery at a local airport that bake the best of best fruit pies. We visited them last week and oh my word, so delicious. As we are having friends over this weekend, I intend to order a pie from them for dessert for Sunday to enjoy with our friends.
As for picking them fresh, it’s the absolute best especially early morning before the sun get to them. Now my mouth is watering for a handful of rest blackberries.

    • Maria, they truly are delicious and to be able to pick them out in the fields or next to the road, they are even more special. As we just moved to an area with even more blackberries, I am waiting for the new season to arrive
