Chili Bites From Scratch

These spicy Chili bites from scratch will soon be a favorite!

Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups Channa flour
  • ½ cup self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1 large potato, coarsely grated
  • 1 large onion, coarsely grated
  • 2 handfuls of finely chopped lettuce.
  • Roughly 1 cup of water, you might require more or less.
Chili Bites

Method:

  1. In a bowl, sift together the channa flour, self-raising flour, baking powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
  2. Stir in the chili flakes, potato, onion, and lettuce.
  3. Add the water a little at a time, until you have a nice thick paste.
  4. Place a spoonful of the mixtures into hot oil and deep fry until golden brown.
  5. Drain on paper towels.
