Family Apple Tart

This classic and favorite apple tart is a Family favorite and is used regularly. Do try it out, I am sure you will also love it.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of cake flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tin unsweetened pie apples
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 TBS butter
  • 1 tsp baking powder (heaped spoon)
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Sauce:

  • 1 cup fresh cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C
  2. Beat eggs thoroughly
  3. Slowly add sugar, beat together until light
  4. Melt butter in milk
  5. Sift flour, salt, and baking powder together
  6. Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture
  7. Add the butter mixture
  8. Pour the mixture into a greased dish
  9. Top with apple pieces
  10. Bake for 45–50 minutes at 160°C.

Sauce:

  1. Bring the sauce ingredients to the boil and boil for 10 minutes
  2. Pour the sauce over the apple tart as soon as it comes out of the oven
  3. Serve with fresh cream or ice cream.,
