Grease a Donut baking tray with cooking spray.
Preheat oven to 200 °C
Ingredients
1 cup Self Raising flour
Pinch of salt
1/3 cup castor sugar
1 Large egg
1/3 cup buttermilk
5 tbsp melted butter
1 cup icing sugar
5 tbsp fresh cream
Moirs blue and red food colouring
Glitter sprinkles or glitter dust
Method
Sift flour and salt in a mixing bowl
Add castor sugar to flour
In a separate jug whisk egg, buttermilk and melted butter
Add this mixture to your flour and combine with a spatula until smooth
Pour batter into a piping bag or you can use a zip lock plastic bag with the corner cut
Pipe batter into your Donut pan
Bake for 7 to 9 minutes. Remove and allow to cool on wire rack
Icing Glaze
Mix together icing sugar with fresh cream
Splatter a few drops of blue and red food colouring into your icing with a toothpick. Use as much as you like to get the desired colour glaze.
Using a chopstick make swirls in icing in a figure 8 to create a galaxy of colour.
Dip donuts face down into glaze finish off with glitter sprinkles or glitter dust.
Makes 12 donuts
