German Apple Tart

TRH Thumbprint cookies

Ingredients
125g butter
200g sugar
3 eggs
250 ml cake flour
15ml baking powder
62.5ml (1/4) cup milk
765g canned apples
50 ml sugar mixed with cinnamon
TOPPING
125g butter
150 ml sugar ( you can add extra 50 lm if u prefer it sweeter)
125 ml milk

Method
Cream butter and sugar well
Add eggs singly,beating well after each addition
Sift flour and baking powder together
Add to creamed mixture with milk to make a soft dropping consistency
Place in well greased 25 cm (10 inch) dish
Arrange pie apples over the batter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar
Bake at 180deg for + – 35 mins

Topping
Boil milk sugar and butter together and pour over cake as soon as it cums out of oven. ***
***Note: I made the following topping. In a saucepan bring to the boil – 1/4 cup fresh cream, 3 tsp brown sugar, 2 tbs butter, 1 tsp caramel essence. Pour over cake as it comes from the oven.
