This recipe is a family favorite at Christmas time: Gingerbread Biscuits
250g butter softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup golden syrup
4½ cups plain flour
1 tsp bicarbonate soda
2 tsp ground ginger
½ tsp ground cloves
½ tsp ground nutmeg
½ tsp ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 180˚C.
Beat butter and sugar together in a mixer till light and creamy.
Add egg and golden syrup and beat together.
Sift in all remaining dry ingredients, and stir to combine to bring dough together.
Place the dough in cling wrap in the fridge for an hour.
Roll out the dough on floured surface to a 4mm thick and cut shapes with biscuit cutters.
Place on a tray lined with baking paper and bake for 10-12 minutes.
