Description

Apple crumble is a traditional family favorite and it’s hard to tell that this version is gluten-free, grain-free, wheat-free, and to top that off as sugar-free as well!

Ingredients

Units Scale

Filling

  • 8 apples peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1/4 cup sweetener of choice to taste
  • 1 tsp pumpkin spice (optional)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 large lemons – Juice

Instructions

  1. Combine the apples, sweetener, and spices.
  2. Mix till well blended.
  3. Pour over the lemon juice and stir through.
  4. Pour mixture into a greased baking dish (grease it with butter for an added great taste).
  5. For the topping, combine the almonds and oats in a food processor.
  6. Pulse till the nuts are roughly chopped.
  7. Combine with the coconut, flour, and spices.
  8. Rub in the butter until crumbly.
  9. Sprinkle over the apple mixture.
  10. Bake at 180C / 350F for 45-50 minutes until the apple is tender and the crumble golden brown.
  11. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice-cream.
  12. This makes a very large serving size which I portioned in 2.
  13. The ideal sweet indulgence without the guilt.

  1. And coconut! Yesssss! This sounds so yummy (and timely, as I’ve been making different crumbles over the past two weeks and was looking for another recipe – so thank you!)
