Ingredients / Method:
1.5kg packet green apples, peeled, cored and cut up (either Golden Delicious or Granny Smith, depending on how sweet or sour you like it)
In a big pot with approximately 500 ml water or maybe more – not too much
Place the peeled, cores and cut up apples into the pot on a medium heat and let boil till the apples are soft.
Doesn’t take long at all so don’t leave it too unattended.
When apples soft, I drain off most of the water (the apples have a lot of water in themselves so on cooking, more will develop), not all as you don’t want it too dry.
Crazy or not, the “drained water is beautiful apple juice” so I pour it into a jug or glass as can be seen in the white mug.
If you have a stick blender, fantastic, otherwise just use a mash appliance.
Blend all together in the pot and sometimes I like to add a tad of cinnamon for a slightly different taste.
Let cool, place into a storage container and refrigerate.
It is fine to freeze. If you want it sweeter, add sugar or sweetener powder according to your taste.
Serve and enjoy 👍
