Home-Made Farmhouse loaf Tried Tested

Serve with hearty beef casserole or any of your choice !!!
Ingredients :
7g sachet dried yeast
2 tsp sugar
1 cup warm water
3/4 cup milk
1&2/2 cups plain flour
2 cups self raising flour
40g butter,melted
1/4 cup plain flour extra

1. Preheat oven moderately hot to 210C brush the loaf tin with melted butter or oil. Combine yeast and sugar in a bowl,gradually add combined water and milk, blend until smooth. Stand covered with plastic wrap 10-15 minutes until foamy .
2. Sift the flours into large mixing bowl. Make a well in the center, add butter and yeast mixture. Using a scrapper, mix to form a soft dough. Turn the dough onto lightly floured surface, knead for 5 minutes or until smooth. Shape the dough into a ball, place in large, lightly oiled mixing bowl. Cover and leave in warm place 15 minutes or until well risen. Punch the dough, knead again for 10 minutes or until smooth.
3. Place the dough in prepared loaf tin, leave to cover with plastic wrap in warm place for 10 minutes until risen . Brush dough with milk . Make a four largevdiagonal cuts ( about 1.5 cm deep) across the top of the loaf. Sprinkle with extra flour . Bake for 15 minutes or until browned and cooked through . The bread should sound hallow when tapped at the bottom of bread. Cool to wire rack .
