The most Perfect Home-tried Gingernut Cookies for a Teatime Treat
Ingredients
- 56g butter
- 85g golden syrup
- 113g self-raising flour
- 2 tsp ginger powder
- 1/2 tsp mixed spice
- 1/2 tsp bicarbonate soda
- I Tbspn sugar
Method:
- Preheat oven to 160โC(fan oven).
- Line tray with greaseproof paper.
- Melt butter and golden syrup.
- Allow cooling.
- Sift dry ingredients and add the syrup mixture to form a soft slightly sticky dough.
- Roll walnut-sized pieces of dough into balls and flatten.
- Space dough out as these will spread.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Cool
- Remember, this is not only a Christmas-time cookie, in fact, it is also a perfect cookie year-round.
