Home-tried Gingernut Cookies

The most Perfect Home-tried Gingernut Cookies for a Teatime Treat

Ingredients

  • 56g butter
  • 85g golden syrup
  • 113g self-raising flour
  • 2 tsp ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp mixed spice
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate soda
  • I Tbspn sugar
Gingernut Cookies

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 160’C(fan oven).
  2. Line tray with greaseproof paper.
  3. Melt butter and golden syrup.
  4. Allow cooling.
  5. Sift dry ingredients and add the syrup mixture to form a soft slightly sticky dough.
  6. Roll walnut-sized pieces of dough into balls and flatten.
  7. Space dough out as these will spread.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  9. Cool
  10. Remember, this is not only a Christmas-time cookie, in fact, it is also a perfect cookie year-round.
