Found my mom’s old Murkhoo machine during the move…. This is my first attempt….used my mom’s recipe which I tweaked a bit….
Ingredients:
1 cup Ace instant porridge (original flavour-sugar free)
+- 2 cups freshly boiled water
1 tbsp butter
1 cup gram flour
1 cup rice flour
1/2 cup maizena / corn flour
1/4 tsp tumeric powder
1/4 tsp hing
1 tsp jeera seeds
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Method:
Add enough boiling water to Ace instant porridge to make a semi thick paste.
Mix in butter.
In another bowl sift the remaining ingredients and then mix in Ace mix to create a soft dough.
P.S. If too thick, add a little extra hot water or more rice flour if too runny.
Load into the murkhoo machine, create shapes and fry in medium hot oil until light brown or done to your liking. Enjoy.
