Ingredients
1 onion
1 tsp jeera seeds,
1 tsp whole soomph,
few cinnamon sticks,
2 star anise
2 bayleafs
1 tsp tumeric,
2 tsp dhania jeera powder,
2 tsp birth masala (optional),
1 tsp garam masala,
3 tbs Bombay masala,
2 tbs chilli powder
2 tsp ginger and garlic paste,
2 kg chicken (washed & cut and skin removed if u prefer)
1 chopped tomato,
potatoes (as many as u like)
Method:
Fry 1 onion in a little oil with 1 tsp jeera seeds, 1 tsp whole soomph, few cinnamon sticks, 2 star anise and 2 bay leaves.
Add 1 tsp tumeric, 2 tsp dhania jeera powder, 2 tsp birth masala (optional), 1tsp garam masala, 3 tbs Bombay masala, 2 tbs chilli powder and braise for +- 5 mins on low heat.
Add 2 tsp ginger and garlic paste, 2 kg chicken (washed & cut and skin removed if u prefer) Cook on high for 5 to 10 mins, add 1 chopped tomato, potatoes (as many as u like…halved and coloured with food colouring if u prefer.)
Bring to the boil, reduce heat to medium and cook until chicken and potatoes are cooked. Add water, a little at a time, only if necessary.
Serve with Roti / rice & salad
P.s. feel free to adjust the amount of masala and chilli powder according to your preference.
