Irene's Royal Cream Biscuits

If u have a sweet tooth…this is for uπŸ˜‰
Kindly excuse my first attempt at icing cookies πŸ™ˆ but the taste is out of this worldπŸ’—
250g butter / good quality margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp almond essence
+- 2 & 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Beat the first 4 ingredients together until creamy.
Add next 3 ingredients being sure to add flour a little at a time until a soft workable dough is formed. Roll dough out and cut shapes or roll into logs and cut into rounds. You can refrigerate dough for a while before rolling to firm it up. Place on a prepared baking pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for +-10 mins until lightly browned. Top or join biscuits with royal cream icing…recipe below.
Royal Cream Icing
Mix 2 cups sifted icing sugar with a few tablespoons water and 1/2 tsp almond essence (can go up to 1 tsp if you prefer) to get a thick consistency.
Colour icing with ur choice of colours. Decorate biscuits as desired. EnjoyπŸ˜˜πŸ’—
