Jam Hungarian tart

My version of the Jam Hungarian tart and I added almond flakes to jam and coconut topping.

Ingredients for this tasty Jam Hungarian tart:

  • 250 grams of soft butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • +/- 3 -4 cups flour to form a soft biscuit dough

 

Method:

  1. Cream butter and sugar
  2. Add egg and vanilla essence and cream
  3. Sift flour and baking powder
  4. Gradually make a soft biscuit dough
  5. Flatten the dough (and leave some dough for grating over) at the bottom of a flat tray, and spread the jam of choice (I used apricot jam)
  6. Lastly, grate the remaining dough over
  7. Bake @ 170C for 15mins
  8. Then switch the oven off and leave for 10 minutes
  9. Once done cut and leave the cool completely

Tip for the Jam

Put it for 20 seconds in the microwave, then whisk it, spread, and smoothen the over the dough with a palette knife
