250 g soft margarine
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup coconut
1 1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup mixed seeds
1/2 cup chopped pecans or almonds
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbls golden syrup
3 tbls water
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl
Add the soft margarine and form into breadcrumbs.
Heat the water and syrup until the syrup dissolves.
Add the bicarb to the syrup and mix well.
Mix together the syrup mixture and bread crumbs mixture to form a dough.
Press onto a greased oven tray.
Bake in a preheated oven 160 for 25 minutes.
Remove from oven and slice into thin slices.
Switch oven off and put back for further 10 minutes.
Remove and allow oven to get cooler and put back to crisp.
