Keto cookies with nut butter are a delicious treat that has gained popularity in recent years, particularly among those following a ketogenic diet. The ketogenic diet is a low-carbohydrate, high-fat diet that has been shown to offer various health benefits, including weight loss, improved blood sugar control, and increased energy levels.
The concept of using nut butter in keto cookies is not only delicious but also aligns well with the principles of the ketogenic diet. Nut butter, such as almond butter, peanut butter, and cashew butter, are rich in healthy fats, moderate in protein, and low in carbohydrates, making them an ideal ingredient for keto-friendly recipes.

The history of nut butter itself dates back centuries, with almonds believed to be one of the earliest nuts to be consumed by humans. However, the commercial production of nut butter began in the late 19th century, primarily with peanut butter, which was popularized by figures like Dr. John Harvey Kellogg and Dr. Ambrose Straub, who advocated for its health benefits.
As interest in low-carb diets grew in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, so did the demand for alternative ingredients to traditional flour and sugar in baking. Nut butter emerged as a versatile and nutritious option, providing a rich and creamy texture while keeping carbohydrate levels low.
The evolution of the ketogenic diet and its increasing popularity in mainstream culture have led to creative adaptations of traditional recipes, including cookies. Keto cookies with nut butter have become a favorite among keto enthusiasts and health-conscious individuals alike, offering a satisfying sweet treat without derailing their dietary goals.
Today, you can find a wide variety of recipes for keto cookies with nut butter, ranging from classic peanut butter cookies to more innovative creations like almond butter chocolate chip cookies or cashew butter thumbprint cookies. These treats not only satisfy cravings but also provide a source of healthy fats and protein, making them a guilt-free indulgence for those following a ketogenic lifestyle.

Description
Indulge guilt-free with our Keto Cookies made with rich Nut Butter. These low-carb, sugar-free treats are not only delicious but also perfect for your keto lifestyle. Don’t just dream about them, make them yours today.
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond butter
- 1/4 cup powdered Monk fruit sweetener.
- 1/4 cup almond flour
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper or use a baking mat and set aside.
- Stir together all ingredients in a mixing bowl until well-mixed; the dough will be thick and dense, it’s what it should be so do not stress about it.
- Divide the dough into 18 balls, by scooping the dough (I eyeballed it) and placing it on the baking sheet. Separate the balls and space them slightly apart as they do spread a bit, but not a lot.
Keto nut cookie dough, nut butter, and balls - Use a fork and lightly flatten each ball by pressing down and forming a criss-cross pattern on the cookie (or however you want to decorate it).
- Bake for ±12-15 min or until the edges of the cookies turn brown.

Oh, my. I would have to say this is one of my favorite recipes you have posted. I mean, like, I love baked foods, especially cookies and muffins. And this is just for me!! Definitely a must try. Trying to find the Mond Fruit sweetener might be a challenge for me. Never used before. Is this a speciality item or with all the other sweeteners in the bake isle?
Take care and best wishes.
Hi Debra, So glad you enjoy this one. I have updated the post with a link, but you can find it here on Amazon: Monk Fruit Sweetener https://amzn.to/3UTM9hF.
BUT, feel free to substitute it with any other sugar sweetener you may have available. Hope you will enjoy it.
