Description
If you like hard-boiled eggs but want something different, try making golden eggs. By spinning or shaking the raw egg fast, the yolk and white mix together inside the shell. After boiling, the egg has a smooth, creamy texture and a uniform yellow color. It’s easy to do and makes a great snack or salad topping.
Ingredients
- Raw eggs
Instructions
- A golden egg is a hard-boiled egg that’s completely yellow inside. Instead of having a separate yolk and white, the egg looks the same color all the way through.
- To make this, you scramble the egg while it’s still in the shell before boiling it. This mixes the yolk and white together.
- The trick is to spin or shake the raw egg very fast so the yolk and white blend evenly. You can use an egg spinner or simply shake it vigorously.
- Once the egg is mixed, boil it as usual. After cooking, you’ll see a smooth, golden color inside instead of the usual white and yellow layers.
- It’s a fun and easy way to change up your hard-boiled eggs!

I don’t understand. What is a golden egg? (Other than the one laid by the golden goose, which I’m guessing isn’t what is meant here….)
Colin, it’s only the color of the egg once cooked. Priscilla Huxford (member that posted) shook an egg while still raw and the yolk and white mixed in the shell, and when cooked it turned a yellow/golden color.
