What to do when you have left over Chicken A ‘ La King?
Well not strictly left over I just told the boys they can’t have it for lunch as I’m using it for pies and not cooking. I just used some puff pastry which I brushed then baked. Made some gravy and some French Onion Rings.
Ingredients
2 onions
Whole Milk
2 cups flour
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
Oil for deep frying
Method:
Slice onions into very, very thin rings.
Cover with the milk.
Place in the freezer just until the milk starts to form crystals.
Remove and place on paper towel.
Heat the oil till piping hot.
In a pot with a lid add the flour and seasoning and stir with a fork to combine.
Add the onions, cover with a lid and vigorously shake the pot to coat the onions.
Drop in bunches in the hot oil.
It will clump together.
Do NOT stir or separate.
Turn when golden, drain on paper towel and immediately sprinkle salt.
