I’m still playing with my new Air Fryer so I tried out the Honey mustard Pork Chops. (In the recipe book) I am giving you the ingredients verbatim.
But the method is not, it’s my version. It was superb. It’s unbelievable that your side dishes take up all your time now. I served with herby mashed potato, green beans and sautéed mushrooms and red onion.
Honey and Mustard Pork Chops
Ingredients
2 tblsp honey
4 (10 mm thick) bone-in pork loin chops
1 tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
¼ cup softened butter
¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
2 tblsp honey mustard
1 teaspoon chopped fresh sage (I used dried)
Method
Season the chops with salt and pepper.
Mix the remainder of the ingredients into a bowl until you get a homogenous mixture. Cover chops and refrigerate whilst you prepare your side dishes.
Place on high rack of Air Fryer. Broil for 8-10 minutes at 259 degrees turning half way.
[Normal method : Grill at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes turning half way].
Herby Mashed Potato
Ingredients
4-5 big potatoes
1 chicken stock cube
1 sprig thyme
1 sprig rosemary
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp parsley
1 tsp mixed herbs
¼ tsp chilie flakes
1 egg (optional)
2 tblsp butter
1 cup half and half
Method
Peel, wash and quarter potatoes.
Add stock cube, thyme and rosemary and bring to a boil. Once tender drain. (for a home facial hold your face over the pot and pour the water towards you with the steam coming up to your face)
Keep the potatoes in the pot. Remove rosemary and thyme sprigs. Add the butter, baking powder and egg.
Using electric beater beat potato while slowly adding half and half little at a time.
Add salt, pepper, parsley, herbs, chilie flakes, beat adding enough half and half till you get desired consistency.
Green Beans
I just top and tailed 2 cups of green bean beans.
Blanched them for 2 minutes in boiling water then sautéed it in garlic butter for 2 minutes and sprayed it with chili spray, and covered in crushed black pepper.
Mushrooms and Red Onions
Ingredients
1 tray sliced mushrooms
1 sliced red onion
2 minced garlic cloves
2 tblsp butter
1 tblsp olive oil
1 tsp sugar
2 tblsp white wine vinegar
1 tsp salt
Black pepper
Method
Melt butter and olive oil in pan.
Add garlic and fry till fragrant.
Add onion and vinegar, sugar and salt.
Saute on low till onions tender.
Add mushrooms and sauté till mushrooms tender but a bit firm and well coated.
