Friday night dinners at home is normally hot dogs or prego rolls (when it’s not take outs). I just decided to spice up a boring prego steaks last night.
Ingredients
6-8 Prego/Minute Steaks
1 tblsp oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp sishanyama spice
¼ tsp peri-peri spice
1 red onion, diced
2 garlic cloves chopped
½ cup chicken stock
½ tsp thyme
Steers BBQ sauce
Chips
Method
Tenderise the steaks with kitchen mallet.
Season with spices.
Heat 1 tblsp oil in pan and heat, when hot quickly fry steaks both sides then remove. Heat other tblsp oil in pan.
Add onion and a pinch of salt and fry 30 seconds, add garlic and fry another 10 seconds, add frozen veggies, chicken stock and thyme and allow to boil then reduce.
Arrange chips on a platter, make a hole in the centre, add steaks, pour veggies over.
Place dollops of BBQ sauce over. Serve with fresh rolls
