For the curry
Soaked Chickpeas & Kidney beans overnight in 1 cup water
Pressure cook it.
2 teaspoons of Ginger Garlic Onion paste
1 onion cut in small pieces
1 teaspoon of Cumin & coriander seed powder
Fresh paste of 2 tomatoes
1 teaspoon of red chilli powder
Half teaspoon of tamarind paste
1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
Rock salt according to taste
Fresh coriander leaves
2 teaspoons of cooking oil
1 bay leaf
A pinch of cardamom powder
A cinnamon stick
For Puri (also spelled Poori)
1 cup of whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons of oatmeal flour
A pinch of salt
½ cup of sour yogurt
Make a dough
Keep it in a tight box for 2 hours
1 cup of cooking oil for deep-frying
Procedure for the curry
In a hot pan.
Put 2 teaspoons of oil
Then bay leaf, cinnamon stick
Lightly fry the chopped onion
Mix ginger garlic onion paste
Tomato paste
All the dry spices
Mix ½ cup of water
Mix the boiled pulses
Cook well.
Add salt, tamarind paste.
Serve hot, garnish with fresh coriander leaves
Procedure for Puri
Heat up a cup of oil
Make small balls from dough
Roll the balls in circles
Deep fry in hot oil
Serve with the spicy curry
