Who doesn’t love crispy, savory pork chops? Try this Air Fryer Parmesan Crumbed Fried Pork Chops recipe tonight! Let’s get cooking!

Air Fryer Parmesan Crumbed Fried Pork Chops combine the convenience of air frying with the deliciousness of crispy, breaded pork chops.

Some interesting background and history of each component:

  1. Air Fryer: The concept of air frying gained popularity in recent years as a healthier alternative to traditional deep frying. Air fryers work by circulating hot air around the food to create a crispy outer layer without the need for excessive oil. This method reduces calorie and fat intake while still providing a satisfying crunch.
  2. Parmesan Crumbed: Parmesan crumbs refer to a mixture of breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese. This combination adds a rich, savory flavor and enhances the crispiness of the coating when fried. The use of Parmesan cheese in breading is a common technique in Italian and Italian-American cuisine, adding depth of flavor to various dishes.
  3. Fried Pork Chops: Pork chops are a popular cut of meat obtained from the loin of the pig. They are versatile and can be prepared in numerous ways, including grilling, baking, pan-frying, and deep-frying. Fried pork chops are typically coated with seasoned flour or breadcrumbs and then fried until golden brown and crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy on the inside.

The history of combining these elements likely stems from a preference to create a healthier version of fried foods without sacrificing flavor and texture. Air fryers have become increasingly popular due to their ability to mimic the results of deep frying with significantly less oil, making them a favorite kitchen appliance for health-conscious individuals and those looking to reduce their fat intake.

The addition of Parmesan crumbs to the breading adds a fancy food touch, elevating the dish with its rich, cheesy flavor. This fusion of techniques and ingredients allows home cooks to enjoy the taste and texture of fried pork chops with a fraction of the calories and fat traditionally associated with deep frying.

Overall, Air Fryer Parmesan Crumbed Fried Pork Chops represent a modern twist on a classic dish, combining convenience, healthfulness, and delicious flavor in one satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Parmesan Crumbed Fried Pork Chops

  • 2 large thick sliced pork chops
  • A pinch of coarse salt (per side)
  • A pinch of freshly ground black pepper (per side)

Crust

Instructions

  1. Wash and spice the pork chops on both sides with salt and pepper as desired.
  2. Add to Air Fryer (Besile 7.0QT Large Hot Air Fryer) and bake at 370F/187C for 20 minutes but flip the meat over after 10 minutes.
  3. Continue to bake and complete the 20 minutes.
  4. In the meantime, prepare the crust by mixing the parmesan, Panko, and seasoning mix in a deep dish.  You can use whatever quantities you like, but I used a 1:2 ratio of crumbs to cheese.  The seasoning you can also adjust to taste.
  5. Check out Baking Conversion Charts for Cooking and Baking
  6. After 20 minutes in the AF at 370F pull the tray out, use roughly ¼ of the mix per chop, and press it on the cooked meat while still in the AF.

  7. No need to take it out, just add the mixture and press it firmly down on the half-cooked meat.
  8. Return to the AF, now at 400F/200C, and continue to bake for 10 minutes (per side) until you have a nice brown color.
  9. Flip the meat over, cover the other side with the rest of the crumbs, and continue to bake for 10 more minutes.

  10. I use Silicone Air Fryer Liners (much easier to clean the AF) but feel free to do it directly on the AF rack.
  11. Serve once ready and done to your liking.

    • Firstly, thank you so much for the upcoming feature and I hope you will enjoy it. I hardly or even nowadays turn on the oven for anything. I either do it in a pan or pot on the stove or use the AF. Enjoy it

  3. An air fryer is an appliance I want to get. Just haven’t gone out to buy one. My counter top already has a few appliances and adding another isn’t really what I want to do. However, seeing this pork chop recipe, it’s an item that is more of the main meal and just not ‘snack’ foods.

    • Hi Debra. I felt the same as you about another appliance, but eventually decided to make away with others that I did not use enough to warrant it to keep them and then bought an AF and can not be happier. I hardly make snacks in my AF, mostly meals as it’s only two of us now, and it’s the best investment I made. Go for it, you will not be disappointed. You will be able to see via this recipe (links) which one I bought if interested.
