Potato Fritters

What’s crispy, cheesy, and goes with literally everything? Potato fritters.

Potato Fritters

Let’s talk about potato fritters, those crispy, cheesy bites of happiness. They’ve been around for centuries, with people from all over the world putting their spin on them. Why? Because potatoes are awesome, cheese is life, and frying things makes them better.

Description

Tired of the same old potato recipes? Meet potato fritters, the crispy snack that’s perfect for brunch, lunch, or whenever you need a little fried happiness. Who’s making these this weekend?

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 potato (peeled and grated)
  • 1/2 an onion (grated)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Grab a mixing bowl and toss in the grated potato, onion, and egg. Mix it up!
  2. Slowly add the flour, stirring until everything sticks together in a batter-like consistency.
  3. Sprinkle in the cheese, salt, and pepper. Taste as you go, because life’s too short for under-seasoned fritters.
  4. Heat a pan with enough oil to lightly coat the bottom. (Think crispy, not greasy.)
  5. Scoop a spoonful at a time of the mix into the pan, flattening it with the back of your spoon.
  6. Let them sizzle away until they’re golden and crispy on both sides.
