Pull apart mini bread loaf with Nigella seeds (kalongi/onion seeds)Ingredients
500 g all-purpose flour
2 tbsp dry yeast (3x7g sachets)
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp oil/ghee
5ml salt
1 cup + 4 Tbspn warm water
1 Tbspn Nigella seeds (and a few extra for sprinkling over bread)
Method
Place all the ingredient in a bowl and knead to a soft dough.
Allow to rest until double in size in a draft free warm area
Divide dough into small pieces(100g weight) and roll into fingers. Place each one next to each other in a greased loaf tin (allowing some place for the rolls to expand.
Cover and rest for about 15-20 minutes until they double in size.
Glaze with milk, sprinkle over Nigella seeds and bake at 180’C until done.
Once removed from the oven brush with melted butter, cover with a tea towel and allow to cool in the pan.
