300g lean minced lamb
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 carrot, peeled and grated
1/2 celery stick, finely chopped
4 garlic cloves, crushed
1/2 tsp crushed ginger
4 tomatoes chopped
1 tsp tomato puree
1/4 red pepper
good pinch of dried oregano, or to taste
1 sprig rosemary
2 sprigs thyme
salt and pepper to taste
1 Tbspn Worcestershire sauce
1/4-½ cup water
Heat a pan, add mince, onion, ginger and garlic.
Cook for about 10 minutes or until the mince is browned
Blitz the tomatoes, red pepper and tomato purée.
Add the puréed tomato mixture,fresh herbs, Worcestershire sauces, water and seasoning.
Simmer the Bolognese sauce for about 1½ hours on the stove top or slow cooker (2 hours or more in the slow cooker)until the sauce is thick
