Its Shrove Tuesday (Pancake day) in the U.K.
Ingredients
150g Wholewheat self raising flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
5 tsp caster sugar
1 large eggs
3/4 – 1 cup milk
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
3 tsp oil
a little vegetable oil
Method:
Sieve the dry ingredients into a bowl
Place oil, milk, oil and vanilla essence in a measuring jug and mix well.
Make a well in the middle and add liquid ingredients.
Beat well until the mixture has the consistency of thick batter, adding a touch more flour or milk if its needed.
To cook, heat a large frying pan over a medium heat with a dash of vegetable oil.
To make sure I get evenly sized pancakes, use 1/3 cup measure to portion the batter into the pan.
In the pan, guide the batter into a circle.
Once bubbles start to appear on the top of the pancakes, they’re ready to be flipped.
Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side.

Scotch pancakes sound fantastic!
Give it a try and let me know what you think please and thqnk you.
Pancakes are such a joy. Whoever invented them needs a round of applause and 5 gold stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I totally agree, quick and easy and yummy. 🙃🙃🙃
These sound and look so much better than box mixes.
For sure, homemade always the best. Enjoy
Did my cousin ever friend you on Facebook? I still haven’t gone on Facebook today. I thought she said she did.
As I have a 5 admins helping with the FB page one of them may have approved her request if she did sign up, so not sure. Sorry, give me her name again, then I will be able to check on the members list.
Wow,that’s impressive. I thought you just did it. It must be pretty busy. Her name is MaryLee Tonkoshkur. I think I spelled that right, not sure. I asked you this in previous question. Disregard.
I do not find her first or last name in the members list. As MaryLee to join @ The Recipe Hunter (Cook & Enjoy) https://www.facebook.com/groups/therecipehunter/ Would love to have her there
I will tell her next time I see her. She had to go to the hospital today with her husband.
Hope they OK 🙏
Her husband had to have a stent put in his heart.
WOW – know the feeling, my husband had the same. Please pass my best wishes to her and husband.
Thanks I will. I hope your husband is doing well now.
Thanks so much, that was 12 years ago
That is doing very well. I hope he is doing well otherwise.
We are very blessed, life is good. Thanks
That’s great to hear. I know you both eat well, that’s for sure.
Thanks dear, we do our best and with the new diet my husband agreed to do it with me so that’s a huge help and motivation to stay on track
That’s true. My boyfriend has problems and now my cousins husband. He even quit smoking.
Good for quiting smoking. Fortunately never done that. Have your boyfriend look at the Dukan Diet
No, he was thinking of the keto, I think that is what it is called. I haven’t heard of the one you mentioned. I will look it up.. Thanks for the suggestion.
You will find sone keto recipes here on the blog as well. Just type keto in the search to find them.
Ok, cool. There’s a lot of Facebook groups that post too.
I am sure you will find many other groups. I hardly belong to any other groups, I try to keep up with my own and the blog, Pinterest and Instagram on a daily basis. That’s enough for now. I also work full time, have a husband at home so my time for other groups I had to cut down on. No use belonging to a group and then a silent member.
That’s my problem, I am pretty much a silent member. I do less than you do and I still can’t find the time. I think my writing takes more time because I have to come up with an idea and then write something that sounds good.. It takes me along time to write something.Writing doesn’t come easy to me, but I like to be challenged.
Yes, as my FB members post to the group, I just blog their recipes on their behalf, much quicker and easier. To each his own.
That sounds like an easier way. Less work.
Yes, but then I still try to create from scratch my own recipes and post them. Love to do that
You have a very full and busy day. Keep cooking.
Thanks doing my best
We love pancakes too. 🙂
Divine for sure, enjoy it
