11/4 cup boiling water
250g dates chopped
½ cup pecan nuts
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
125 g butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
1½ cups flour
Add bicarbonate of soda to boiling water
Remove from stove, add dates& nuts.
Cream together butter and r well.
Add egg and vanilla
Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture.
Pour into well-greased tin. 20 cm “ring”
Bake 180C for 30-45 minutes
