Per Layer
- 2 cups cake flour
- 1 cup castor sugar
- 1/2 cup cooking oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- Food coloring (gel or liquid, just a small drop so it stays bright)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a round cake tin.
- In a bowl, sift together flour, salt, and bicarbonate of soda.
- In another bowl, whisk sugar, water, oil, vinegar, vanilla, and food coloring until combined.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture. Gently stir until smooth, don’t overmix.
- Pour batter into prepared tin.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before removing from tin.
