Soya mince, a meat substitute made from soya beans. It can be used in various preparations and is very tasty, so try this Soya Mince and Pea Curry
Ingredients:
- 1 cup soya mince, soaked in boiling water for 30 minutes, then drained and set aside.
- 1 onion, finely chopped.
- 2 tsp ginger and garlic paste.
- 1 tomato, grated.
- 1 tsp masala.
- ½ tsp turmeric powder.
- Salt to taste.
- ¼ cup of peas.
- ½ tsp tomato paste.
- 2 cinnamon sticks.

Method:
Heat some oil in a pot.
Add the onion and cinnamon sticks, sauté till the onions are transparent.
Add the ginger and garlic and allow to fry for a couple of seconds.
Add the spices, grated tomato, and stir so that the spices coat the onions nicely.
Add a cup of water and the tomato paste, stir so the spices dissolve in the water.
Allow the water to come to a boil.
Add the mince and allow to cook for about 30 minutes, until the mince is almost soft. If need be, you can add a little more water so that the mince does not stick.
Add the peas and cook, till the peas are soft and all the water has been cooked away.
