It always amazes me that in the avian kingdom the males are the more attractive. This is a beautiful duck!

Yes, I totally agree with you, but as far as I know, the bright feathers usually help males attract females. On the other hand, females remain drab for camouflage, protection, and predator avoidance while nesting.
