    1. Hi Keith. When we saw it the first time, we also though, oh my! But as we were high up on the mountain side, it was not an uncommon sight to see in bear season. This particular instance, it was a momma bear and 2 cubs. As long as you do not disturb them and stay away from them, then all good.

  1. What a sight to behold!
Slightly nerve-wracking to see a bear strolling by so close to home though!

    Happy Friday, Esme!

    1. Veronica, we did not see this mamma and cubs, but our neighbours did spot them. As long as you leave them alone, then all good, especially a mamma with cubs. Do not try to go to them or harm them then all good.

    1. Hi Jim, Fortunately they are not that bad, as long as you do scare them or try to hurt them they will just stroll along. Also, the two in the pictures we saw we rather far away from us, so all good.

I recall seeing some bears as we travelled through Yosemite National Park many years ago, Esmé. Unfortunately, they were too quick for us, and by the time I reached for my camera to take pictures, they’d disappeared into the undergrowth and trees.

I couldn’t even image a bear in my neighborhood!
Please do share your images at the My Sunday Snapshot.

  4. Excellent advice on how to deal with a brown bear.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥

    1. Thanks for dropping in here. Fortunately, we never saw the bears for whom they posted the sign, but our neighbors did. The other two were far away from us and we could admire them from a distance.
