Description

Unbaked Chocolate Hazelnut Oreo Cheesecake is a creamy dessert with a chocolate biscuit base and smooth hazelnut filling. Perfect for make-ahead treats and simple entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

Filling

  • 300 ml whipping cream
  • 200 g cream cheese (softened)
  • 125 ml – 1/2 cup hazelnut spread
  • 100 g chocolate chips (melted and slightly cooled)

Decorations

  • Fresh strawberries
  • 5 pistachios (chopped)
  • Toblerone shavings
  • 1 Oreo biscuit (crushed)

Instructions

  1. Blitz the 14 Oreo biscuits into fine crumbs.
  2. Mix in the 2 Tbspn melted butter until it looks like damp sand.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into a lined pan (use cling film so it lifts out easily later). Use the back of a spoon and really press it down so it holds. Pop it into the freezer while you make the filling.
  4. Melt the 100 g chocolate chips in the microwave in short bursts, stirring in between so it doesn’t burn. Let it cool slightly; it shouldn’t be hot when added later.
  5. Whip the 300 ml whipping cream to soft peaks. You’re looking for cream that holds shape but still gently folds over, not stiff. Don’t overdo it or it’ll go grainy, just soft and fluffy.
  6. Add the 200 g softened cream cheese to the whipped cream and beat until smooth.
  7. Mix in the 1/2 cup hazelnut spread, then slowly pour in the melted chocolate chips.
  8. Whisk for a few minutes until thick and creamy. If it feels a bit loose, keep whisking, it’ll come together.
  9. Pour the filling over the chilled Oreo base and smooth the top.
  10. Freeze for about 2 hours until set.
  11. Take it out of the freezer about 1 hour before serving so it softens slightly, otherwise it’s too firm to slice nicely.
  12. Top with strawberries, chopped 5 pistachios, Toblerone shavings, and the crushed Oreo biscuit.
  13. Slice and serve. It’s rich, so smaller slices actually work better here.

Useful tips

  1. If you want a more classic texture, chilling in the fridge for 4 to 5 hours will also work.
  2. Cream cheese needs to be softened, or you’ll get lumps.
  3. Melted chocolate must be cooled slightly, or it’ll seize the mixture.
  4. The base needs firm pressing, or it’ll crumble when sliced.
  5. You’re looking for cream that holds shape but still gently folds over, not stiff.
  6. You might wonder what pan size to use. A standard 8-inch pan works well here.
  7. Also, lining your pan with cling film is important or removing it becomes a struggle.
  8. If you find it too rich with hazelnut spread and chocolate together. You could reduce the hazelnut spread slightly if you want a lighter flavour.
  9. Can I refrigerate instead of freezing? Yes, just allow more time
  10. Can I swap Oreos? Yes, any chocolate biscuit works
  11. Can I skip decorations? Absolutely, it still tastes great
