500g lamb pieces
30ml veg oil
2 teaspoons ginger and garlic ( freshly grated)
One medium onion thinly sliced
1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 cinnamon stick
2 elachi pods
6-10 curry leaves
2 medium tomatoes chopped
2-3 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
4 tablespoons masala
2 tablespoons chilli powder
1 teaspoon coriander and cumin powder
Peeled and cube potatoes
Heat oil, add mustard seeds, cumin, cinnamon, elachi to oil.
When seeds begin to splutter add onions, curry leaves and 2 green chillies
Once onions and spices release fragrance add lamb pieces, ginger and garlic.
Cook until nicely browned
Add chopped tomatoes, salt, turmeric, masala, chilli powder, coriander & cumin powder.
Cover and cook for about 5-8 mins until tomatoes have broken down.
Add cubed potatoes, 1 cup boiled water, lower to medium heat and cook for about 35-40 mins.
