#81 Senior Salon
Self-Care Isn’t Selfish, Take care of yourself
Are you ready, for the new week of #80 Senior Salon
July 20, 02:00 am to July 25, 2020, 12:00 pm PST
We have a good number of entries for this past week, but rather disappointing to see the extremely low count of shares and reads on the posts. Please fellow #SeniSal members, we implore you to read and share the posts of your fellow bloggers. The more you give, the more you will receive. This is part of Caring for one another!
- “Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
- “Solitude is where I place my chaos to rest and awaken my inner peace.”
- “I lied and said I was busy. I was busy; but not in a way most people understand.
I was busy taking deeper breaths. I was busy silencing irrational thoughts. I was busy calming a racing heart. I was busy telling myself I am okay.
Sometimes, this is my busy – and I will not apologize for it.”
- “Prioritise self-care & incorporate a MINIMUM of 60 mins ‘ME-TIME’ into your daily routine. YES THERE ARE enough hours in the day. NO EXCUSES.”
- “Do something nice for yourself today. Find some quiet, sit in stillness, breathe. Put your problems on pause. You deserve a break.”
- “Self-care is never selfish, but it may feel that way when you live a frenzied life.”
- “Taking care of yourself is the most powerful way to begin to take care of others.”
- “Our soul is like a soft and gentle flower, it needs to be nurtured, cared for, tended to, with sufficient sunlight, fresh air and freedom to bloom into its most precious and beautiful form. This, my friend, is self-love.”
#81 Senior Salon
Thanks for your loyal support. Please may we respectfully ask each and every participant that you keep sharing, and promoting Senior Salon on your own blog? We do require and need your help to keep #SeniSal growing and the only way we can grow, would be for you to share your links, but also to tell your own followers to come and participate.
We have two banners you can choose from to promote Senior Salon. Thank you for being part of this weekly feature.
We welcome all new bloggers and some bloggers that shared posts before that returned and shared again. We hope that you enjoy the camaraderie and will come back weekly!
The more new friends we get, the more wonderful posts we can read and share. In doing so you also promote and get your own posts shared more widely, so this will be in your own benefit as well.
Thanks, that we can count on your support ♥.

TOP 10 Senisal POSTS
If you wish to take another look please revisit #80 Senior Salon as we did receive a great number of wonderful posts. The fact that the entries closed, does not mean that you are unable to visit and read, comment, and share those posts.
We respectfully ask for your support and help to share our weekly post on a Monday and throughout the week when you come to share your post via Inlinkz. If you do not share and help #SeniSal will not be able to survive. This is as much for you all as it’s for your hosts and we really ask for your weekly support in sharing the Monday post on your social media and add the #Senisal Banner to the post that you share and the Winner Banner when you made the TOP 10 list.
By sharing the TOP 10, I hope this will encourage you to make a conscious effort to get your post also listed in the TOP 10 MOST POPULAR LIST. Instead of having the top 10 most popular songs, we now feature the TOP 10 MOST POPULAR POSTS.
The doors to #81 Senior Salon are OPEN

Great self-care quotes, Esme. I like the quotes from Jane Fonda and Bryant McGill. #senisal
Thanks. I had a hard time selecting quotes. So many good ones to choose from.
I think too often we associate self-care with spa days and Netflix binges, and we don’t want to feel wasteful and indulgent. But we all need white space in our calendars and time to think and breathe. It’s like the old saying about oxygen masks on airplanes–if you don’t take care of your own vital needs, you won’t be able to help anyone else.
Hi Barbara – I totally agree with you. Self care to me does not constitute spa days and such.
