New Beginning, New Workspace for Blogging for #Senisal

Are you ready, for the new week of #83 Senior Salon?

Aug 3 – Aug 8, 2020, 2:00 pm PST

Hi, there dear fellow #SeniSal members, this is a free launchpad and service for you and your blog (not free for me as I pay a monthly fee to give you this feature), although I am not asking you for financial contributions.  What we do ask, would be for you all to help us and share this post when you leave a link here.

Last week, we only received 1 (yes, only ONE fellow blogger) sharing this post.  I know this blogger well and I see him/her (not going to give out clues here) share it on Facebook.  Please, when you share your link/s (2 maximum) we respectfully ask that you share this post on Facebook, Twitter, or any other Social Media of your choice.

We need YOUR help to share the weekly POST EACH AND EVERY WEEK when you leave your link.

The more you give, the more you will receive.  This is part of Caring for one another!

New Beginning, New Workspace for Blogging for #Senisal

  1. Minimize reaching to the side or in front while using the device.
  2. Don’t squeeze the mouse – hold it loosely.
  3. Keep your wrists straight.
  4. If using a wrist rest, rest your hand, not your wrist, on the pad.
  5. Alternate hand use, if possible.
  6. Increase your mouse pointer speed.

Here’s how to set up your workstation ergonomically

When you start out to create your own workspace at home, then you need to make sure that the set up is as close as possible to what you will have in a work environment in a corporate office.  Try your best to get yourself a proper and good office chair, as this will go a long way to help you to make your space ergonomically friendly.

It’s not always possible, but should you work from a bench or dining table (or a bed or couch – I will not recommend this), it will be way more difficult to get the work area set up, but you should still do your best do to reduce the stress on your body and avoid injury.

Anytime you’re at your desk, you should be seated in the “90-90-90 Position.” This means that your elbows should be bent at a 90-degree angle, your hips should be at a 90-degree angle, and your knees should be at a 90-degree angle, with your feet flat on the floor beneath your chair.

#83 Senior Salon

Thanks for your loyal support.  Please may we respectfully ask each and every participant that you keep sharing, and promoting Senior Salon on your own blog?  We do require and need your help to keep #SeniSal growing and the only way we can grow, would be for you to share your links, but also to tell your own followers to come and participate.

We have two banners you can choose from to promote Senior Salon.   Thank you for being part of this weekly feature.

We welcome all new bloggers and some bloggers that shared posts before that returned and shared again.  We hope that you enjoy the camaraderie and will come back weekly!

The more new friends we get, the more wonderful posts we can read and share. In doing so you also promote and get your own posts shared more widely, so this will be in your own benefit as well.

Thanks, that we can count on your support ♥.

TOP 10 Senisal POSTS

If you wish to take another look please revisit #80 Senior Salon as we did receive a great number of wonderful posts.  The fact that the entries closed, does not mean that you are unable to visit and read, comment, and share those posts.

We respectfully ask for your support and help to share our weekly post on a Monday and throughout the week when you come to share your post via Inlinkz.  If you do not share and help #SeniSal will not be able to survive.  This is as much for you all as it’s for your hosts and we really ask for your weekly support in sharing the Monday post on your social media and add the #Senisal Banner to the post that you share and the Winner Banner when you made the TOP 10 list.

By sharing the TOP 10, I hope this will encourage you to make a conscious effort to get your post also listed in the TOP 10 MOST POPULAR LIST.  Instead of having the top 10 most popular songs, we now feature the TOP 10 MOST POPULAR POSTS.

  1. Hi Esmé, I’m sharing the Senior Salon’s post every week on Flipboard. Unfortunately, when I click on the Twitter sharing button, not all the information is coming up. This is what comes up –

    #83 Senior Salon https://esmesalon.com/83-senior-salon/

As you can see, your twitter username no longer shows in the share. It always used to, but seems to have stopped working. The original tweets had lots of hashtags in them as well. As a WordPress user, I can add them to the post before publishing the post.

I found this happening on quite a few blogs that don’t have the WordPress sharing buttons at the bottom of each post. May I suggest that you reinstall them (if that’s possible?)

    • Hi Hugh. Thank you so much for letting me know about this weird sharing scenario. I will for sure look into this as this is disturbing and may well be the reason why it does not even show up as shared while you did. I am grateful for you mentioning it and thank you for sharing each week. I will most definitely take a hard look at this. Do you think it would be best just to have the sharing at the bottom as I feel it’s an overkill to have it twice? Thank you again Hugh.

    • Hi Esmé, yes, absolutely. I’ve found that the WordPress sharing buttons at the bottom of a post always work much better than any on the side of a blog. I don’t see a problem in having both, especially given that WordPress doesn’t have sharing buttons for everything, so I’d definitely say to install them.

  2. I shared on Twitter and Pinterest and try to do that most weeks. Yay for a new work space! I don’t have any great tips about growing a blog except that the more I interact with other blogs, the more interaction I receive on mine. I try to be genuine and not interact *just* to get return visits. But it does seem like the more we invest in others, the more return we get. As with everything else, it’s hard to balance time doing that with all else we need to do.

    • Morning Barbara. Thank you for your genuine interaction and sharing. Yes, now that I am retired, oh my its the first time that I put it that way, I will for sure have more time to interact. I am so excited about my new work space as this is a huge improvement over what I had in the past. More spacious and much better layout etc. I do not have to sit in my kitchen as a telephone table with only space with the monitor and keyboard and nothing more.
Thanks for your participation, and let your followers know and ask them to come and join as well. Thanks so much. Take care and I will read your post soon,
