A basic scones recipe to be used and you can make a multitude of different varieties

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup white sugar
5 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter
1 egg, beaten into milk to add to 1 cup of liquid

Method

Preheat oven to 380°F (190°C).

Line 2 baking sheets with parchment.
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Melt butter and mix into dry ingredients.

Roll dough out into 2 1/2 inch thick rounds.

Cut each into 8 wedges, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.
