What are Burfi Truffles?
Burfi truffles are a fusion dessert that combines the traditional Indian sweet, burfi, with the Western treat, truffles. Burfi is a type of fudge made with milk powder, sugar, and ghee. It comes in various flavors, including pistachio, almond, coconut, and rose. Truffles, on the other hand, are bite-sized chocolate confections made with chocolate ganache and coated in cocoa powder, chopped nuts, or sprinkles.
To make burfi truffles, the burfi is first shaped into small balls and then dipped in melted chocolate. The chocolate can be dark, milk, or white, depending on personal preference. The truffles are then garnished with nuts, rose petals, or edible silver leaves to add a touch of elegance and flavor.
Burfi truffles are a perfect dessert for special occasions like festivals, weddings, or parties. They are easy to make, require only a few ingredients, and can be customized to suit individual tastes. They are also a great gift idea for friends and family, as they are both delicious and visually appealing.
Overall, burfi truffles are a delightful fusion dessert that combines the best of both worlds. They are a perfect example of how different cultures and cuisines can come together to create something unique and delicious.

Hi Laurie, thanks for dropping in. Burfee, Barfi or burfi is a milk-based sweet from the Indian subcontinent with a fudge-like consistency. Its name comes from the Persian and Urdu word for snow. Barfi is consumed throughout India and Pakistan and is especially popular in North India and amongst the Indian community in South Africa.
