The baker added Pecans, Brazil nuts, chopped dates, oats, and chopped Beacon chocolate to the dough to create these delectable Chocolate Chip Cookies. Oh, Yummyness.

A chocolate chip cookie is a drop cookie that features chocolate chips or chocolate morsels as its distinguishing ingredient. Chocolate chip cookies originated in the United States around 1938 when Ruth Graves Wakefield chopped up a Nestlé semi-sweet chocolate bar and added the chopped chocolate to a cookie recipe.

Description

A plate of deliciousness, chocolate chip cookies. Jennifer added pecans, Brazil nuts, chopped dates, oats, and chopped Beacon chocolate to the dough.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup castor sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 slab chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans and walnuts/Brazil
  • Nuts
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped dates
  • 2 Tbsp. oats, optional

Instructions

  1. Place both sugars in a bowl
  2. Pour melted butter over
  3. Mix well
  4. Add vanilla and eggs
  5. Mix well
  6. Then add sifted flour, bicarbonate of soda, and salt
  7. Gently mix it
  8. Add nuts, dates, chocolate, and oats
  9. Mix into a nice soft dough
  10. If it’s a little sticky, add a little more flour
  11. Using a tablespoon, scoop up the dough, and place it on a baking sheet, do not flatten.
  12. Bake at 180C degrees for 10 to 15 minutes or until it’s golden brown.
  13. Remove from oven, and allow to cool.
