Instructions

  1. Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder into a bowl.
  2. Add, the coconut, sugar, syrup, milk, and essence.
  3. Whisk until a smooth batter is achieved.
  4. Fold in the chopped nuts.
  5. Pour into a greased brownie pan, and sprinkle with almond flakes, this is optional.
  6. Pop into a preheated oven.
  7. Bake at 180C / 350F for 15 – 20 minutes or until the cake tester comes out clean.
  8. Allow cooling for an hour in the pan before turning out onto a cooling rack to cool completely.
