Common Merganser

Wordless Wednesday – Allow your photo(s) to tell the story

The common merganser (North American) or goosander (Eurasian) (Mergus merganser) is a large sea duck of rivers and lakes in forested areas of Europe, Asia, and North America. The common merganser eats mainly fish. It nests in holes in trees.

  1. What a beautiful bird. Wow. Love the colors.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥

    1. Thanks for dropping in here from your WW linkup. Although the name same ‘Common’ and we do see them lots, the colors are anything but common.

  2. What a perfect photo to catch the bird in flight like that. I’m surprised its name has “common” in front because I honestly don’t see these colorful ducks too much.

    1. Yes they are gorgeous. They are plentiful here in our area but they are beautiful and I love the fact that we can see them locally.
