Description

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 Cup Yellow Cornmeal/ Miele Meal also known as mealie meal or maize meal
  • 1/2 Cup Flour
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Egg (beaten)
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar (optional)
  • 1 Tsp Black Pepper

  • 1 Cup Milk
  • Vienna / Frankfurter sausages
  • Oil
  • Skewer Sticks

Instructions

  1. * Add turmeric powder to the white mielie meal for a yellow batter * (You decide on how much depending on how yellow you want to make it)
  2.  In a bowl, combine all the dry ingredients and add in the beaten egg.
  3. Stir in the milk to make a thick smooth batter. Insert the skewers into the hotdogs.
  4. Pour the batter into a glass/jug, as you will find it easier to dip this way.
  5. Dip the skewers into the batter and fry in deep oil till golden brown.
  6. Drain, serve with sauce of your choice, and enjoy!!
