Description

A perfect Sunday dessert.  If you’re running low on apples for this Dutch Apple Pudding you can also substitute it with sliced peaches.  It will be as delicious.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 125g butter
  • 250ml sugar
  • 250ml cake flour
  • 10ml baking powder
  • Pinch salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 65ml milk
  • 410g can pie apples
  • 45ml sugar
  • 5ml cinnamon

Syrup

  • 125g butter
  • 250ml sugar
  • 125ml milk

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter & sugar till creamy.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt and set aside.
  3. Add 2 of the eggs and beat well after each addition.
  4. Add 15ml flour then lastly the egg & mix well.
  5. Add dry ingredients & enough milk to form a smooth batter.
  6. Pour batter into greased baking dish and add the pie apple pieces to the batter and lightly press it down.
  7. Bake in preheated oven at 180C for ±30-35min or until the skewer inserted comes out clean.
  8. Boil together syrup ingredients & pour over pudding when done.
  9. Serve with fresh cream or custard or you can have it as is, as it tastes great on its own.

    Great recipe. What I noticed was that the apple only does not appear anywhere on the list of instructions so I went ahead and layered them on top of the batter.

      1. I have been making much these days in my multi cooker…you have any good recipes for that? BTW multi-cookers are the next norm… great for single people with limited space.

          Hi – To be very honest, I have not used this appliance as I do not have one, and am unfamiliar with it. I will ask my FB followers if anyone have any recipes for the multi-cooker and will keep you posted
