Fruit Salad with maple syrup sauce

Easy Healthy Fruit Salad is a refreshing and nutritious dish that has been enjoyed for generations. Rooted in a tradition of simplicity and natural flavors, fruit salads have been a staple in diets around the world. The concept of combining various fruits into a single, cohesive dish likely originated in ancient times when people sought ways to make use of seasonal produce. With the advent of modern agriculture and global trade, the availability of diverse fruits year-round has only enhanced the appeal of fruit salads, making them a versatile option for any meal or occasion.

The beauty of an easy, healthy fruit salad lies in its flexibility and nutritional benefits. By incorporating a variety of colorful fruits, each contributing unique vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, these salads offer a powerhouse of health benefits in every bite. Whether enjoyed as a quick breakfast, a light snack, or a vibrant addition to a larger meal, fruit salads can be tailored to individual tastes and dietary needs. The simplicity of preparation, coupled with the ability to customize ingredients, makes fruit salads a favorite choice for those seeking both convenience and wellness in their diets.

Description

Feeling like a fresh and yummy treat? Our Easy Healthy Fruit Salad has got you covered. Whip it up in no time and feel the difference.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 425 g strawberries chopped
  • 385 g seedless grapes
  • 145 g raspberries
  • 200 g blueberries
  • 250g peaches/nectarines
  • 175 g apricots
  • 45 ml maple syrup
  • 25 ml vanilla extract
  • 25 ml lemon juice
  • 10 ml poppy seeds
  • A few fresh sprigs of thyme
  • 1 Pomegranate Arils from 1 fruit (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut the fruit, then place it in a beautiful salad bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the maple syrup, vanilla, lime juice, and poppy seeds and drizzle over the fruit.
  3. Gently toss everything together.
  4. Garnish with thyme and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
  5. Notes
  6. Use any fruit you may have available in the fridge. You can include diced apples, cherries, or bananas.
  7. Lemon juice helps keep the fruit fresh longer, but you can use any other citrus juice like orange, lemon, or pineapple for variety if you do not have lime or lemon juice
  8. Store any leftover fruit salad in the fridge for up to 2 days in an airtight container. Should you decide to use fruit like bananas, apples, pears, and peaches, you may wish to wait until you’re ready to serve the salad, to prevent them from turning brown.
  9. Serve with Berry Homemade Vegan Ice Cream
