What is peanut sauce used for?
Peanut sauce is used with meat and vegetables, adding flavor to grilled skewered meat, such as satays, poured over vegetables as a salad dressing such as in Gado-Gado, or as a dipping sauce.
Easy Peanut Satay Dipping Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 Cloves Grated Garlic
- 1 tsp. Freshly Grated Ginger
- 1 Tbsp. Sambal Oelek (chili paste) or 1 Red Chili (finely chopped)
- 1 tsp. Dried Chili Flakes
- 1 Tbsp. Honey
- 2 tsp. Soy Sauce
- 1/3 Cup Peanut Butter
- 1 Can Coconut Milk
- 1 Lime (juiced)
- 2 Tbsp. Oil (flavorless)
- 1 Tbsp. Sesame Oil (to finish)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
Heat the oil in a pan and fry the ginger and garlic for a few seconds.
In a jug, add the honey, soy sauce, peanut butter, coconut milk, and sambal/chili then whisk.
Pour into the pan and stir on medium heat till smooth and creamy.
Once heated, stir in the sesame oil, chili flakes, and lime juice then remove from the heat.
Sauce may be served warm or cold.
Add your choice of salad greens, vegetables, and chicken satays and enjoy!!
